Embroidery for the Soul – Embroidery, Custom Sewing, and Screen Printing – was born in Gold Bar, Washington from a need to keep active and positive.
A US Army Veteran, woman owned, and operated business, Elizabeth LaZella started our company in 1989 but closed on 2000 due to breast cancer. A building was built on our property by her husband, who felt that sitting in a chair while going through chemotherapy and radiation for breast cancer was not healthy for Elizabeth. He felt that it would benefit her mind and soul to be busy, but not have to travel far. Chemo and radiation is a tiring event, so traveling to a full-time or part-time workplace was out of the question. The business is now located in Monroe, Washington with a warehouse, work space and a showroom.
The Embroidery for the Soul is a constant reminder for Elizabeth to be humble and to keep in mind that there is always a higher power looking over us all.
